Haunted George "Where's Charlie Jones?" (In The Red, 2009)

Dla nieuważnych/leniwych: Haunted George to Steve Pallow, basista Beguiled oraz wokalista i gitarzysta Necessary Evils. Z wywiadu na Terminal Boredom:
"After the Necessary Evils broke up, I kind of stopped playing music for a while. I hardly touched a guitar and stopped listening to any kind of music that wasn’t pre-1940’s country or blues. I stopped listening to any kind of Rock ‘n’ roll or Punk. It was getting to where electrified guitar was starting to sound foreign to me and stuff with drums in it was even stranger. I eventually picked up the guitar again and I started trying to write stuff that I could play and sing acoustically like Jimmie Rodgers, early Gene Autry and Cliff Carlise. At the same time I wanted it also to sound like stuff that I had written in other bands. I was really trying to write Western songs. Some of the songs sounded like an acoustic-folk version of the Necessary Evils and The Beguiled. Other stuff had a weird rockabilly/country/folk sound that I never really got to put into either of those other bands".
A więc pieśni o wiedźmach, mordach i kosmitach ciąg dalszy. Przyznam, że pomijając wybrane utwory, twórczość Haunted George'a nie podobała mi się jakoś szczególnie. Aż do wydania tego mini-albumu, a wyszedł on na światło dzienne lewie dwa tygodnie temu. Wcześniej nagrywał się mono w swoim mieszkaniu na kilkudziesięcioletnim magnetofonie (!), a teraz wszedł do studia, to raz. Oczywiście ciągle jest to muzyka brudna i paskudna, ale nie tak radykalnie, co mu szkodziło. Dwa, że już nie jest jednoosobową orkiestrą, bo dołączył do niego Jimmy Hole, towarzysz z Necessary Evils, a więc brzmi to już odpowiednio mocniej.
Jest zajebiście. Ale najlepsze jest to, że "Where's Charlie Jones?" to zbiór odrzutów z LP "American Crow", który ma wyjść gdzieś niedługo. Wiec jak dobry będzie ten album? Czekam niecierpliwie.
I jeszcze coś: Necessary Evils się właśnie reaktywowało. Nie wiem czy jak to zwykle bywa skończy się to na zagraniu kilku gigów, ale Szatan cieszy się niewątpliwie.
